Welcome to Hollowtop Farms! We are a small-acreage micro farm in the hills of Tennessee and Arkansas, with an emphasis on regenerative permaculture principles. In 2018, we purchased a dilapidated foreclosed mobile home on 1.2 acres. The condition of the property was abysmal, with thousands of pounds of garbage from decades of illegal dumping on the land, and harmful runoff seeping into the local watershed. The slow process of regeneration began (And continues). Endless trips of debris were hauled out, damaged soil was removed and repaired, highly efficient infrastructure was installed, and a sustainable permaculture garden was planted. The original property was sold to a family that continues to improve the small homestead, and Hollowtop moved to a nearby 5-acre site. The farm seeks to set an example of how mistreated properties throughout the US can be turned into economically and environmentally sustainable farms for either commercial or subsistence purposes. We consider most modern suburbs to be environmentally destructive, and are passionate about educating rural and city homeowners on how they can turn their lots into healthy, happy places that produce nutritious food while creating a beautiful outdoor space that encourages more interaction with nature and improves the wildlife and water habitat around them.
